another of my favorite blogs, exp etc, just posted a whole lotta jandek.
fantastic outsider folk from a reclusive texan. i can't recommend his first three albums enough. i doubt any of them are bad.

That blog looks great, thanks! I'll be looking at that for awhile I bet.
I've heard a lot about Jandek but haven't heard any actual music and I've been so daunted by his huge discography. I'm going to check out Six and Six for now.

i know, i know. i find it strange that roy harper is so unknown... i discovered him because led zeppelin has a song 'hats of to roy harper', and one of their most beautiful songs 'bron-yr-aur-stomp' is said to be inspired to roy harper too. that made me curious long time ago and since then i listened more to roy harper than to led zep Wink Laughing

I'm pleasantly surprised that The United States Of America is still listened to. Surprised But I did not expect to find it in this 'folky' topic. Confused
In the time it came out, 1998 I think (my youth so to speak...little bit: Embarassed ) it's called Psychedelic Rock. But okay, what's in a name. Smile
Joe Byrd's (THE man of The USofA) 1999 second album with the band 'Joe Byrd And The Field Hippies' is also worth listen to, it's called: The American Metaphysical Circus. (also the name of a track of the first album)

These are some examples; you can find more on youtube...

I agree !!!!!!!!
Sometimes I even think that the track 'How Sweet to Be A Cloud' (one of my all time favourites) could be song by Antony......... Or am I saying something very odd now?

Oh boy, in my previous post on this topic I said the album came out in 1998, that has to be of course 1968!!!!!!! I am so stupid. doh
You must have get a mixed up idee about my youth, haha.........
And the second album came out in 1969.
I'm afraid I was a little bit sleepy.
