I think that this just might be the thread that no-one here bothers to read!!!

The B-52's have been a guilty pleasure of mine for ever. I've spent a fair part of today (which has REALLY p*ssed off my Wife!) slaving over a mix CD in a vain attempt to beat-match it as good as birdantony manages to. If anyone is interested in hearing it, I'll upload it.

no reason to feel guilty about the b-52's. they are an amazing and incredibly fun band. i have been a fan since i first heard "dance this mess around" when i was around 12 or so. they were probably one of the first introductions to gay musicians. aside from a couple of their late eighties/early nineties albums, their disco is pretty solid. funplex from last year was a real return to form for them.

while i was back in connecticut my friends cheered me up one night with a b-52's dance party.

i think they are really underated. and i would not miss the opportunity to see them live.

Sadly I'm old enough to go right back to the days of Rock Lobster!

and "private idaho", which i think shows off their musicianship.

MMM Love the b52s!! always have, always will...and I still use the term 'Dance This Mess Around' quite often...of course, fewer and fewer people know what i am referring to, but that doesn't lessen the fun of it in the least...

I quite enjoyed their lastest trip to the Funplex, as well...

Tin Roof...Rusted! indeed! Smile
