|
|
"I've got a lot of ideas. While I was doing TCL, I recorded another handful of songs which could constitute my next album. They have got a sound more ...psychedelic, that's the only world that comes to my mind. Far from my usual minimalism"
Antony doesn't like the 'etiquettes' he is put on : I don't feel comfortable neither with chamber pop nor with dark cabaret . When I've been told that TCL was N°1 in some european countries, i only reacted by tweaking myself : i had to convince myself I was'nt dreaming. In the US, on the contrary, they censored my last videoclip.

Fascinating! I love the idea of a psychedelic Antony!!! On the other hand, I wish I was surprised that the GORGEOUS video was censored here, but, alas, I am not... |

oh the contradiction of living in "the land of the free". freedom of expression, but only to the point they allow.
anyway,
a psychedelic antony album sounds great to me. i think we can sort of hear it in 'ghost','christina's farm' and 'salt silver oxygen'. replace the string flourishes of the orchestra with electric guitar and it would be much like the psych-folk of the sixties. |

Psychedelic, psych folk.........sounds quite hippyish! |
i'm thinking the more pastoral vein, vasthi bunyan, wendy and bonnie(two mentions in one day), a little comus, and a little os mutantes. |

Exciting news!

he copuld go that way, but i'm thinking that night even ANOTHER group of songs, where ghost and christina's farm and salt, silver, oxygen are included...
i think his psychadelic approach will be something much more modern and a little more out of his confort zone than ghost, etc... |

I don't think that the word 'psychedelic' for antony means what we think about psychedelic music..
and anyway I'm expecting another ep before the new album, exactly an orchestral ep in collaboration with nico full of snakes, ghosts and of everything that is new and/or renewed!!! |

yes!
and i don't want to think about the next album yet - we should give antony some rest, peace, inspiration and time. all the albums and eps he gave us the last years still give me enough beauty to cherish and to warm myself and my beloved ones...
every new song, arrangement, ep, album should be regarded as a blessing for us, not as a duty! |

haha i completely agree!
but Antony/Secretly Canadian/Charles Atlas/whoever's responsible aren't off the hook for the Turning DVD... |
